Our House in South Jersey is For Sale!

This has been our home for over twenty years and we always loved and cared for it. My wife of almost 60 years passed in September, 2022 and at 86, I can no longer keep the house.

It is located on a dead end street (little traffic) in a quiet wooded neighborhood about ten minutes walk from Malaga Lake. Three major highways converge within a quarter mile of our home and you can drive to the Philadelphia or Atlantic City Airport in less than an hour. A detailed description is at the bottom of this page and you can follow links to see photos.

Front yard at Christmas time

We hang about 20 colorful balls on our dogwood tree...

...but not to be outdone, God decorates the hawthorn tree!

This is where we take daily walks

Enough of winter. Lets have springtime!

My wife was a member of the Country Garden Club and whoever buys the house will appreciate her horticultural touch!

When my wife first saw the kitchen, it sold the house! Verna loved to cook and entertain!

The large table seats eight and extended, it seats twelve persons. We ate most of our meals at another table next to the island. It is a pull-out table that seats six. There were times when we also used a third folding table with eight folding chairs to accommodate a total of 26 persons!

As realtors say, "The main thing is location, location, location!" It is only a ten minute walk to the back beach of Malaga Lake where large painted turtles lay their eggs in the warm sand. The clean water is great for fishing, enjoying your canoe or rowboat (no power boats). It is less than a half mile to three major highways, Route 40 (Harding Highway), Route 47 (Delsea Drive) and Rte 55 (4-lane Highway with no tolls). Several shopping centers and malls are within ten miles, but Bentwood Drive is a quiet, residential, dead-end street with only local traffic and trees to deaden the noise.
Malaga has local restaurants such as Pegasus, Malaga Diner, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, 2 pizzarias, a Wawa and 2 Dollar stores but no large businesses.
It is less than an hour to Philadelphia and Atlantic City Airports and the Jersey shore!

Now comes the down side, but it is not that bad! The septic system functions fine but must meet new State standards before the house may be occupied by its new owner.
When we bought the house in 2003, we took out the tub and installed a large shower with seats. I first installed a 3/4 inch waterproof plywood sub-floor with linoleum flooring.
I also installed an adhesive backed vinyl tile floor in the kitchen in 2005 but that was a mistake! It is beginning to curl at the edges and should be replaced. I will let the new owners do this job according to their own tastes.

A special offer to prospective buyers!
I also need to sell or dispose of the contents of the house and garage. I will make great deals with the buyer on anything you want free or at yard sale prices!
