Betsy
Our fourth dog was a Black Lab named "Betsy." We were asked to take her at six
months of age after someone else started to raise her.
Half an hour after Betsy arrived, we took her to the Seeing Eye Puppy Raiser Club. The photo below shows
3 Shepherds and 3 Black Labs.
Betsy was a very lovable dog
and we looked forward to sharing our lives with her for 7-8 months before she
returned to The Seeing Eye for formal training. We soon noticed that Betsy
seemed very fearful at times, so TSE took her for observation while we were in
California. She was taken out of the program and someone got a nice pet. We soon
got Nina.
Betsy loved walks and the lake, but she was afraid of vacuum cleaners and lawn
mowers.
